Official Regulations – “Play & Connect” Tournament

Event Philosophy

“Play & Connect” was created to build bridges between people, clubs, and sponsors, promoting the values of friendship, sportsmanship, and collaboration.
Winning is not the only goal: what matters is playing, meeting, and connecting within the unique setting of Wonderbay and San Marino.

“Play & Connect” is an inclusive and social padel tournament, open to players of all levels except professionals (FIP-registered players).

The goal is to promote not only connection between people, but also collaboration among clubs, companies, and sponsors — creating a network that unites sport, community, and shared growth opportunities.
The tournament is designed as both a sporting and relational experience, where competition meets fun and the desire to connect.

The event takes place over two days.

Saturday - Group Stage

  • Each team is placed in a group of 4 pairs.

  • Each pair will play 3 matches (1 set against each of the other pairs in the group).

  • All matches are played as best of 1 set, with KILLER POINT at 40-all.

  • At 5 games all, a tie-break to 7 points will be played.
    If the tie-break reaches 6-all, play continues until a 2-point advantage is achieved.

  • In case of a tie in the group standings, the order will be determined as follows:

  1. Greater number of wins

  2. Game difference (games won minus games lost)

  3. Total number of games won

  4. Head-to-head result

Categories

  1. Men’s

  2. Women’s

  3. Mixed Doubles

All categories follow the same match structure (group stage + playoffs).
The organization reserves the right to adapt the format based on the number of entries, to ensure balance and enjoyment.

Sunday - Playoff stage

All pairs, regardless of Saturday’s results, advance to the Playoff stage, divided into two draws:

GOLD PLAYOFF

  • Qualified pairs:

    • The top 2 pairs from each group

    • The 2 best third-placed pairs, based on games won/lost ratio

  • Knockout format, best of 1 set with KILLER POINT at 40-all.

  • At 5-all, a tie-break to 7 points will be played (must win by 2 points in case of 6-all).

  • The winning pairs will be crowned Play & Connect Champions – Gold Category (Men’s / Women’s / Mixed).
     

SILVER PLAYOFF

  • All remaining 8 pairs will compete in this draw.

  • Knockout format, best of 1 set with KILLER POINT at 40-all.

  • At 5-all, a tie-break to 7 points will be played (must win by 2 points in case of 6-all).

  • The winning pairs will be crowned Play & Connect Champions – Silver Category (Men’s / Women’s / Mixed).

All pairs are guaranteed to play at least one set on Sunday.

Game Rules

  • A delay of more than 10 minutes from the scheduled match time may result in a walkover (forfeit).

  • Fair play, respect for opponents, and inclusiveness are core principles. Unsportsmanlike behavior may result in disqualification.

  • Any disputes will be resolved at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director.

Registrations and Fees

  • Registrations are open until November 28, 2025.

  • Each pair is guaranteed 4 matches in total (3 on Saturday + minimum 1 on Sunday).

  • In case of withdrawal or inability to participate, no refund will be granted after the registration deadline.
